As part of our travels I have decided to create a photo gallery in which I will upload 1 photograph for everyday we have been travelling, starting Septemeber 1st.

The 1 Day 1 photo gallery is a visual diary of our adventure and exploration of the world as we travel through it.This is my attempt to photograph everyday, which is harder than you think, and bring to the audience a ‘snapshot’ from each day capturing what I feel best conveys the day or the experience of the day.

A different kind of Photography project is afoot in collaboration with The Mauz Book Company. The Company produces Kindle Touch eReader covers that look and feel like hard cover book

Working with the Owner, I have taken a version of his new range of four Kindle covers on my Journey around the world. Traveling with me around the world it is a trusty and hard working companion as well as a great subject for a photography project….

As I have gone I have been photographing the product in the various locations and situations that we have traveled to. As we send back photographs from around the world the photographs have been used as part of the web marketing campaign as the covers have gone on sale.

These are a fantastic range of book covers and have stood up to the tough test of my travels. Take a look at the photographs and also the product at mauzbookco.com

I have added some commentary from Mark and his company website below:

<ins>About Mauz Book Co</ins>

Not exactly the type that would give odds on Mr. Lucky in the 8th at Belmont. We’re more the type that wear tweed jackets. Formed in 2011, the company came from a very simple beginning: when I made the decision to switch from print to digital I was disappointed by the product offerings for a cover for my device. Most looked like folios, a few had decent designs, but none really looked like a book. So I set out to make myself a book-looking cover for my Kindle.

Many months, and more prototypes than I care to mention, later The Mauz Book Company launched with the intent of getting a book back into the hands of readers that went digital while satisfying a simple tagline: “An old favorite covering your new favorite”.

<ins>The First Four</ins>

It has been a long time coming, but we are proud to announce our first four titles: Don Quixote de la Mancha, Le Comte de Monte-Cristo, Pride and Prejudice, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Each title features custom artwork, an area for inscription on the inside front cover, and a set of “pages” to secure your Kindle Touch.

It was with great success the collaboration came off, offering exposure for Francis Minien and his work, whilst offering Th Foundary a new emerging artist to work with. This was complimented by the fact that the dailycandy featured prints995 in an Affordable Art Roundup in October 25th.

Prints995 is an online photography gallery and retail site powered by gallery nine5, a contemporary art gallery located steps away from the flourishing art scene of Downtown Manhattan. In 2009 he conceived of the prints995 project, which launched in June of that year, with the goal of offering outstanding and economical, collectible fine art prints to a new generation of art buyers.

the Foundary offers a highly visible stage for established and emerging designers and artists to spotlight the products they’re most proud of. Even if that means letting a limited number of their creations go at prices lower than they originally intended, our sellers are often willing to do so. Ultimately, this means sharing their passion for creation with a wider audience – a notion that captures the spirit of artisanship.

<ins>Partnerships</ins>
We build lasting partnerships between committed organisations and photographers to promote the use of photography as a catalyst for change.
<ins>Support</ins>
We apply business thinking and processes to humanitarian projects in order to increase the likelihood of achieving tangible change. We assess each project on an individual basis and provide appropriate support.
For further information please see the Applications page.

<ins>Grants</ins>
We provide grants for specific projects that involve significant long-term partners. We do not support projects where we are the sole funder as we realise that projects with support from a variety of organisation have a better chance of success.

<ins>Residency</ins>
Photographers and journalists may also apply for a residency at Old Church House in the picturesque Scottish fishing village of Pittenweem. The residency can be used to finish a project or research and develop a new body of work. For more information please click here.

Also don’t forget your essential stocking filler Festival: A View from the Crowd, Visit Blurb.com to take a look at a preview and purchase the new book.

Festival: A View from the Crowd is an exploration of music festival life and the experience documented by myself, over the past two decades, since my first festival experience in 1993. The photographs are not moments in music that we typically see in the journalism of the music festival scene, they are candid shots of Festival life, the experience we all sign up for. There are photographs of people and still life in somewhat documentary style, often with abstract or juxtaposed points of view.

Why do we like music festivals? These photographs attempt to answer why, it’s the atmosphere, it’s the hedonism, it’s the laughs, it’s the music, it’s the sense of community, it’s the mud, its those fuzzy memories, the distant stage, it’s the camping, it’s the freedom to be whoever you want for a few crazy days.

The Festival is bigger than any of the bands, and it’s the crowd that makes the festival.

.
